Blow Molding Technician

Ensures that the product meets quality specifications and is done in a safe and efficient manner. BM Technician is responsible for the set up of injection and blow molding molds, programming injection and blow molding machines, ensuring first article quality, and troubleshooting quality deviations.

Primary Functions:

• Receives adjustment priorities from the Shift Supervisor.
• Maintains quality standards as set by QA.
• Sets up machines with standard cycle time.
• Performs adjustments for product specs: weight, color, cycle time.
• Setup molds per production schedule.
• Maintains clean and safe work area.
• Identifies acceptable vs. non-acceptable product.
• Works independently from verbal/written instructions.
• Responds to machine alarms and identifies root cause.
• Communicates with off-going/on-coming technicians.
• Documents cycle parameters and tool issues.
• Monitors processes and corrects issues.

Requirements:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Experience: Minimum 3 years technical hands-on experience (Injection Blow Molding, Extrusion Blow Molding).

Skills/Qualifications:

• English communication skills.
• Knowledge of plastic processing & troubleshooting.
• Basic math & computer skills.
• Mechanically inclined; basic hand tools skills.
• Hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
• Knowledge of hydraulics & pneumatics.
• Must bring tools listed on technician tool list.
• Teamwork-oriented & respectful.
• Self-motivated & proactive.
• Strong communication & interpersonal skills.

Physical Demands & Work Conditions:

Constant physical exertion; exposure to noise, heat/cold. Talking & hearing required constantly. Repetitive motions: standing, walking, sitting, climbing, kneeling, reaching, handling. Lift up to 50 lbs overhead frequently.

Work Environment:

Requires PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, work boots, heat sleeves, hair/beard nets, back supports. No loose clothing or jewelry. Uniforms required.
