Position Purpose:
Must reside within 20 miles of the Dallas Fort Worth area.
Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:00am to 4:00pm
The CDLA Rental Delivery Driver II is responsible for operating a Tractor-Trailer or Straight Truck to deliver large equipment to DIY and professional customers. This role requires knowledge of the equipment being delivered and providing basic operational training to customers. The driver will ensure equipment is clean and fully operational before and after each delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
10% - Administrative Duties: Utilize company technology to document all work performed and accurately obtain required signatures on rental contracts. Stay current on local licensing and safety requirements. Perform additional tasks assigned by management.
20% - Equipment Deployment: Assist in deploying new equipment to store locations, including performing pre-delivery inspections, delivering to the store, and training store associates on equipment operation. Ensure proper check-in and check-out procedures for equipment.
10% - Parts Inventory Maintenance: Maintain accurate documentation and transfers for parts and fleet inventories.
60% - Equipment Operation: Operate tractor-trailers and straight trucks to deliver large rental equipment. This includes loading and unloading equipment, securing items appropriately, and performing local deliveries and pick-ups from customer job sites. Demonstrate safe equipment operation to customers upon delivery.
Direct Manager/Direct Reports:
This position reports to the Rental Operations Supervisor or Regional Rental Manager.
This position has no direct reports.
Travel Requirements:
Typically requires less than 10% overnight travel.
Physical Requirements:
This role requires periods of continuous physical exertion, including walking, standing, and lifting heavy materials or equipment.
Working Conditions:
Comfortable environment, but may involve exposure to temperature extremes, moving machinery, loud noise, and fumes that could cause discomfort or risk.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
Must be at least 21 years old.
Possess a Class A (Commercial Driver's License) CDL certification.
Valid DOT Physical Examination (Medical Card) is required.
Minimum of 2 years of tractor-trailer driving experience in the last 5 years.
At least 1 year of flatbed tractor-trailer experience in the last 5 years.
Maintain a clean driving record.
Knowledge and experience driving delivery trucks safely in high traffic or congested areas.
Familiarity with local roadways and ability to use maps for efficient routing.
Understanding of safe load securement and transport.
Knowledge of Motor Carrier Safety regulations/DOT guidelines.
Strong work ethic and ability to work well with various personality types.
Proficient with handheld technology (smartphone, laptop, tablet).
Ability to work outdoors in extreme conditions.
Adaptable to unforeseen circumstances including traffic and weather changes.
Responds effectively to customer inquiries and complaints, aiming to exceed expectations.

Two years of flatbed tractor-trailer experience in the past 5 years.
Experience in the equipment rental industry in various roles.
Basic knowledge of construction equipment.
