Program Assistant (International Program)

The Center for Economic and Policy Research (CEPR) has an immediate opening for a Program Assistant for the International Program. This is a full-time position, with the option to work from our Washington D.C. office (fully or in a hybrid setup) or remotely from the United States. Preference will be given to candidates who can work from our D.C. office.

Job Description:

The International Team at CEPR is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Program Assistant to contribute significantly to our initiatives. The team focuses on issues related to the International Monetary Fund, Latin America and the Caribbean Region, US Sanctions Policy, International Economics, Climate Crisis and Trade. The Program Assistant will undertake a range of important responsibilities and will be supervised by the Director of Projects and Strategy of the International Program.

Duties:

  • Organize and facilitate weekly team meetings; capture meeting notes and action items to distribute to the team.
  • Assist in tracking projects and coordinating with team members.
  • Format reports and documents for publication, ensuring they are visually appealing and accurately converted into high-quality PDFs for distribution.
  • Collaborate with translators to ensure timely and accurate translation of reports.
  • Assist in the coordination needed for briefings and other events, both virtual and in-person, ensuring smooth logistics.
  • Attend coalition meetings and other assigned events and take comprehensive notes to capture key insights and action items.
  • Actively maintain the team's email distribution lists.
  • Collaborate with the Domestic Team's Program Assistant to efficiently handle the organization's general inbox and physical mailbox.
  • Handle miscellaneous administrative requests to completion.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience in some or all of the following: coordinating a team's workflow using online project management tools; creating publication layout/design; using email distribution programs; planning events; using spreadsheets; using graphing and visualization software (such as Tableau and Datawrapper); and providing administrative assistance.
  • Outstanding organization skills and attention to detail.
  • Adeptness in handling multiple projects in an energetic workplace, with ability to prioritize and be proactive.
  • Proficiency in both autonomous and cooperative work styles, with the ability to connect with diverse personalities.
  • Excellent verbal communication and writing skills, with flexibility to collaborate remotely across time zones.
  • Strong interest in the areas of focus of the international team.
  • Written and oral proficiency in Spanish a plus.
  • A sense of humor.
