Job Title: Facilities & Events Support Staff
Department : Municipal Services/Operations
Reports To: Building Services Supervisor

Start Date: Early Spring – September

Pay: $16.50 per hour

The Facilities & Events Support Staff plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our campus by stepping in wherever needed. Key Responsibilities:

• Support seasonal operations including planting and mulching (spring), and general landscaping (summer)

• Perform light construction, repair, painting, and quick-turn maintenance projects across campus buildings and infrastructure

• Assist with setup and teardown for year-round programs and special events, often outside of standard working hours

• Operate small tools and equipment (e.g., mowers, trimmers, drills, power washers) safely and efficiently

• Respond to real-time operational needs, including urgent maintenance requests or last-minute program support

• Flex between facilities, grounds, logistics, and event functions based on organizational needs

• Promote and adhere to all safety policies, reporting hazards or malfunctions immediately

Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors in all weather conditions

• Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends, early mornings, or evenings as required

• Dependable, solutions-oriented, and comfortable working independently or as part of a rotating team

• Basic knowledge of tools, machinery, or grounds equipment is a plus—but we’re willing to train

• Valid driver’s license preferred

Position Type & Schedule:

• Seasonal

• Must be able to work varying shifts, including nontraditional hours based on programming and event needs

Season Pass Eligibility:

Employees are eligible for a season pass provided they work a minimum of 24 hours per week during the season; employees receiving Lakeside provided housing are required to work a minimum of 32 hours per week . Season passes are for employment use only and must be returned on the employee’s last day of employment .

  • Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.   • Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems d deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. The ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, climb or balance. Specific vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus are required. Must be able to lift heavy equipment and material up to 50 pounds with assistance. Must be able to climb ladders.
