Location Austin, TX (Remote setup, must be within Austin) Role Summary We are seeking a professional to support geospatial data quality assurance, editing, and compliance validation for a production-grade maps platform. In this role, you will play a key part in reviewing failed QA/QC checks, validating exceptions, editing spatial features, and participating in daily product sign-off cycles. You’ll interpret real-world geographic signals using imagery and other data inputs to help ensure that spatial submissions meet defined schema, formatting, and quality standards. This position requires strong attention to detail, human spatial judgment, and the ability to deliver high volumes of accurate edits under defined service levels. Required Skills & Qualifications 2+ years of experience in a GIS data quality, editing, or mapping production environment. Proficiency in ArcGIS, QGIS, or similar spatial data platforms. Strong working knowledge of geospatial formats (GeoJSON, shapefiles, KML) and schema validation principles. Ability to recognize and interpret spatial features in imagery and derive accurate annotations. Applicants must be able to work directly on W2. Preferred Skills & Qualifications Demonstrated ability to follow and question complex procedural instructions with minimal supervision. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-accuracy data. Strong communication skills for cross-team coordination and issue documentation. Comfort with performing repetitive editing tasks and working with production throughput targets. Day-to-Day Responsibilities Review and resolve geospatial data submissions that fail automated QA/QC pipelines. Validate schema mismatches, formatting issues, and spatial inaccuracies using GIS tools. Edit and annotate spatial features using imagery, map layers, and device signal data. Perform quality assurance and sign-off of map builds, feature updates, and daily production outputs. Deliver and document accuracy ratings of 95%+ across 50–300 edited features per day. Interpret planimetric features (e.g., roads, stop signs, signals) using aerial imagery and multiple data sources. Track task progress, maintain documentation/metadata, and elevate data or tool issues. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and support peer reviews and workflow improvements.
