Overview: The Restaurant Server will interact with guests and ensure they have a great dining experience with Holiday Inn KCI in our casual dining establishment, Burger Theory!
Primary Duties and Responsibilities: - Ensure customers receive a great dining experience by acknowledging, greeting, and thanking all guests; take initiative in resolving guest challenges, and involve a supervisor when needed.
- Understand and respond to customers needs and ensure a high level of guest satisfaction.
- Handle table bookings, direct customers to their tables, present menus, suggest dishes, assist in drink selection, inform customers about food preparation details, and communicate specific customer needs to the cooks.
- Maintain proper dining experience by delivering items, fulfilling customer requests, offering desserts and drinks, removing courses, replenishing utensils, and refilling glasses.
- Stay updated on current menu choices and specialties, as well as menu deviations and kitchen shortages to keep guests informed when ordering.
- Obtain revenues, issue receipts to customers, accept payments, and return change as needed; accurately process all cash and credit card transactions using established procedures.
- Perform all pre-shift and/or post-shift cleaning/preparation tasks, such as cleaning tables, laying out napkins and utensils, refilling condiments, sweeping floors, etc.
- Assist with the completion of basic cleaning tasks as needed.
- Assist with special events as needed.
- Adhere to grooming and appearance standards as well as IHG Service Standards.
- Communicate other products and services available at the hotel upon guest inquiry.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements: - Previous serving experience is preferred.
- Cash handling experience is preferred.
- Excellent verbal communication skills are required.
- Must speak English fluently and be able to write in Basic English.
- Food Handlers Card is a bonus.
- ServerSafe Card is a bonus.
- Must have a high level of stamina to work on feet for extended periods.
- Must be able to frequently lift/carry objects up to 25 lbs., and occasionally lift/carry objects up to 50 lbs.
Schedule (may vary): - Part-Time, 12-20 hours per week on average, depending on operational needs
- AM Shift, 5am-11am
- Some PM availability is a bonus!
- Weekend availability preferred
- Holidays as needed
- Overtime as needed
